This is the sweet spot of wine growing in the Carolinas. It has the distinction of being an official AVA, American Viticultural Area. The warm days and cool nights help the grape develop to its best potential. You'll see chardonnay, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon up to but not including the delicate pinot noir.

Also look to this area for many wine festivals and tasting events through the summer and fall.
